Single pertama, "I and Love and You" dirilis pada tanggal 24 Juni 2009 via free digital download. Album ini dirilis pada vinyl pada tanggal 15 September 2009, dan format CD dan digital tersedia pada tanggal 29 September 2009. Album ini juga tersedia dalam format streaming pada website National Public Radio sebelum peluncurannya.

Lagu "I and Love and You" dipilih sebagai Starbucks iTunes Pick of the Week pada tanggal 22 September 2009. Dari 8 September sampai 8 Oktober 2009, band merilis seri dari 13 chapter video tentang album I and Love and You, masing-masing seri menampilkan satu lagu dari album.
